Sweden’s FI proposes to raise CCB

May 29th, 2015

The Swedish FSA (Finansinspektionen, or FI) on Tuesday proposed amending regulations on the countercyclical capital buffer (CCB) to raise it from 1.0% to 1.5%.

FinansinspektionenFI in September 2014 took the decision to set a CCB at 1.0%, to apply from 13 September 2015. It is now proposing that the buffer should be set at 1.5% from 27 June 2016, given the present economic conditions. The proposal is based on a qualitative assessment that takes account of quantitative factors, including the buffer guide, it said. Comments are being accepted until 8 June.
