Storebrand late payment ‘technical’, credit quality ‘unaffected’

Storebrand Boligkreditt repaid a maturing Norwegian krone covered bond two days late last week, according to Moody’s, which said that the payment delay was due to a technical error, is not considered a default, and has not affected the credit quality of the programme.

BRFkredit sold a EUR750m seven year covered bond on Wednesday that bankers said was the most solid deal of the week, benefitting from a bounce in sentiment, after Stadshypotek sold a EUR1bn six year issue on Monday that was only just oversubscribed amid weaker conditions.



Bonum €100m debut the first step in POP plan

Bonum Bank issued its first public deal this week, a €100m three year FRN that will provide the basis for the future wholesale funding plans of the Finnish POP Bank Group, according to the issuer’s head of treasury, who said Bonum may target €250m issues in future.

SpareBank 1 SMN sold its first euro benchmark senior issue in two years on Wednesday, attracting over €1bn of demand for a €500m five year, which bankers said benefitted from strong demand for the rare issuer.

SR-Boligkredit sold a €750m (NOK6.97bn) long five year issue on Wednesday that bankers, citing a slim new issue premium, described as its best deal to date after a lacklustre result in January, with the new issue having been boosted by a comprehensive roadshow.



Nykredit ventures longer for syndicated SEK5bn threes

Nykredit sold its first benchmark, syndicated Swedish krona covered bond with a three year maturity on Tuesday, having previously issued shorter dated paper in the Swedish market, and attracted some SEK20bn of orders for a SEK5bn FRN.
